

Baldemar Obregon Rios, born on February 20, 1945, in San Benito, Texas, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 80. A devoted, hard-working, humorous, and honest man, he was a cherished member of the community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Baldemar met his wife, Maria De Los Angeles Avina, in Matamoros, Mexico, and they were married in 1966. A native Houstonian, he raised his family in Houston, Texas, where he was a master bricklayer.
Baldemar proudly served in the United States Army, enlisting in 1964 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1969. His dedication to his country was a testament to his character and commitment.
In addition to his professional and military achievements, Baldemar was active in the choir at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Houston, where he contributed his voice and spirit to the community.
Baldemar is survived by his two daughters Alicia Garza and her husband Juan, and daughter Sandra Rios; He is also survived by his son Baldemar Rios Jr and his wife Lauren, brother Guillermo Rios, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Elizondo, great-granddaughter Joy Elizondo and by his wife Maria De Los Angeles Avina Rios.
Baldemar Obregon Rios will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his country. His legacy of devotion, hard work, humor, and honesty will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation for Baldemar Obregon will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081.
