

Barbara was the co-founder of American Wheel and Tire, along with her son Mike Gust in Houston, Texas and was actively involved in the company until her retirement 20 years ago. Barbara spent the next 20 years enjoying her husband John, her 3 children and her grandchildren whom she adored. She was an avid gardener, loved all things beautiful, including her home and had a keen eye for fashion. Barbara had a sassy, sophisticated personality and was always very well put together and took pride in making sure she was wearing the current fashion trend. She relished the company of her family and friends always offering her kind hearted opinion when asked. Barbara’s warm, fun-loving spirit will be missed deeply by those who were extremely blessed to call her Mom, Grandma and friend.
Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents Bertha Louise and Leo Dickey Coyle and her brothers Leo, Herbert and Johnny Coyle and sisters Lydia Merlene Leohr, Yvonne Coyle and Patricia Coyle. Surviving brother is Jimmy Coyle.
She is survived by her husband John Medford, son Michael Lee Gust and wife Tami,
daughters Regina Gust Dorsett and Janet Gust Gregory and husband Rick, grandchildren Cole, Jacob and Carter Dorsett and Layton, Alexis and Levi Gust. Her brother Jimmy Coyle along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 15th of January, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 16th of January, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston.
