Barbara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1976. She became a member of Evangelist Temple COGIC, where she remained for over 18 years. She served on the following committees: Sunday School teacher, New Member Orientation teacher, Member Steering Committee, Missionary Circle Member. She later became a member of Christian Tabernacle/Inspire Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death. She served on the following ministries: Timothy Mentoring Project, Sunday School Department, Embrace Ministries, Intercessory Prayer and Prison Ministry.
Barbara attended the Minnesota Institute Medical Technology and graduated as an X-Ray technologist. She began her career at St. Joseph Hospital and worked for several years before realizing she was not fulfilling her true purpose. She labored before the Lord which led her to pursue her BS degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston. Upon completing her degree, she became a Parole Officer and was later promoted to Supervisor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Board of Pardons and Paroles. She mentored and supervised offenders until she retired in 2004.
Upon retirement, her work was still not complete. Barbara continued to mentor and volunteer in any capacity where she would be instrumental in altering the course of other’s lives. She volunteered at WRC- as Resource Coordinator and volunteered at Plane State Jail in Dayton as a part of the prison ministry until she fell ill. She worked faithfully, serving others until God saw fit to allow this earthly body that was failing her to rest. On October 1, 2021, at 4:45 AM, she earned her new heavenly body and transitioned this earth to forever remain in the presence of the Lord.
Those who remain to celebrate her life while we await to be reunited are her three brothers: Nathaniel Green (Marie), William Green (Demertria), James Green (Ann); One sister: Carolyn Dix (Samuel). Her daughter: Nathalee Jones (Proncell, Jr); Seven Grandchildren: Jabari, Cameron, Israel, Carmelo, Mikayla, Natalya, Proncell III; Three great-grandchildren; Her dearest & lifelong friend: Myrtha Foster; Her god given children/grand-children: Deandrea Hickerson (Dominic), Tony Batiste, Nakesia Stevens & Shelly Stevens - a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and our beloved family pet whom she adored: Indiana Jones.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, whom she is now reunited with in heaven: Bishop J C & Ruby Green; and by her spouse of 24 years: David K.A. LeMay.
