Beatriz Zambrano Beltran

Her life began in Bogotá, Colombia, S.A. where she was born on September 6, 1927. She was the daughter of Carmen Torres Zambrano and Rafael Zambrano. She was one of 8 children, unfortunately 6 of them passed away early on due to childhood deceases. Consequently she was left with her only sister Lilia.

Mom is pre-deceased by our dad Jorge E. Beltran, survived by 7 of her 8 children, Carmenza, Gerardo, Sonia, Theresa, Gladys, George and Helen, her son’s in law, Pablo, Jerry, Carlos and Bill, her daughters in law, Edilma and Maritza, her 16 grandchildren, Paul, Lenny, Steven, Gerardo, Tatiana, Viviana, Meredith, Kimberly, Cindy, Jessica, Lucas, Samantha, Janine, Kaysee, Gabby and Bill, her 8 great-grand children, Christina, Mario, Brianna, Abbie, Andre, Aidan, Jacob and Gloria, her sister Lilia and husband Eduardo, and their children Lucia, Eduardo and Diana, her half sister Martha, her 3 children Sonia, Alejandro and Samuel, her sister-in-law Dabeiva, brother-in-law Plutarco and by many nieces and nephews.

We would like to focus on how she lived, as she always was, and remains, an amazing example of a life well lived. Our mother lived for almost 84 years, enjoying most days and making the best of the trials and tribulations that life sometimes brings. She used the difficult moments to become wiser which enabled her to help her family, friends and neighbors; her inner strength was particularly evident at those times. During her journey on this Earth, she was able to accomplish , along with our father, everything that she intended. She instilled in all of us the importance of family unity, as she dealt with the various experiences that life brought her way. Mom had a kind and generous heart which led her to opening our home to those in need, extending her love, support and resources.

She was quite young when she acquired the responsibilities of becoming a loving wife and mother. Both she and our father, excelled in their ability to teach values, morals and to set structure for all of their children. As the years went by, and for various reasons, she decided to move from her native Bogotá, to the city that never sleeps- New York City. This transition presented her with new obstacles and challenges which she successfully faced. It was important to our parents that we have the opportunity to be successful; mom, consistently emphasized to us the value of a good education. She rejoiced in our triumphs and accomplishments and, along with our father , they were always there to support us.

We were blessed to offer our love and support during her illness; each of us was there with her, and for her, along with some wonderful friends, who gradually became a part of our family.

Mom loved to travel to learn about new cultures; she appreciated everything, from the grandest creation to the simplest flower. She always counted her blessings , as she felt God's Love present, in every aspect of her life. She never stopped dreaming and setting new goals for herself. She approached life with honesty and integrity.

Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, cousins and other relatives and friends will always remember her and she will forever live in our hearts. It is with great love and respect that we celebrate her life.
