

He moved to Houston, Texas at an early age to live with his maternal aunt, Bertha and her husband, Crayton Kendricks.
Ben was married to Ida Pearl Wilmore Harper. Four children were born to this union.
Ben worked diligently for over 60 years. He worked for Texas Bolt Company. His many years of dedication, consistent work ethic and outstanding work performance, allowed him to be blessed to retire as the plant foreman.
He joined Northwest Community Church in 1995 under the leadership of Pastor Nathan J. Cooper and was a faithful and dedicated deacon.
Ben loved spending time with his family, hunting and playing dominoes with his friends, watching westerns and listening to good music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Pearl; daughter, Bernadine Calhoun; and son, Ben Nathan Harper Jr.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory- two daughters, Virginia Shepherd Bryant, Sandra Harper Scott and one son, John T.; daughter in law-Deborah Harper; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
An evening visitation for Ben will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, Texas 77088. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Green Meadows Missionary Baptist Church, 777 Green Meadows Lane, Houston, TX 77091. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, Texas 77088.
