Mom/Grandma, 
The news of your passing onto glory came as a nightmare to us. You were full of Life, the last time we spent Christmas holidays with you all. You are a hardworking woman, so Oboh and caring. Always cheerful and tireless. A virtuous woman. A mother in Israel. A home maker. Always on your toes to make sure everyone is well taken care of. We will surely miss you. Rest in perfect peace, great mother.

Like the virtuous woman, you provide good food for your household and others. Visiting your home was an opportunity to enjoy a good variety of Nigerian dishes, served in royalty, in beautiful dishes, and with love. I admired how you and Uncle Godson always shared the kitchen chores

I received the rudest shock this year on 21 March when I read from my Aunty "Bernadette Osuji Rest in peace." It was a thunderbolt. I sent you Mothering Sunday greetings two days earlier, but it was unusual not to receive a response from you. This explains it all. 

Nda Berna, it is hard to believe that you are gone. You were one of the kindest,  loving, and golden-hearted aunty in-laws I ever met right from onset. You were beautiful inside and outside. 

You were a role model home maker and a true picture of the virtuous woman we read in Proverbs 31. Your worth is far above rubies. You opened your mouth with wisdom, and I saw you display great wisdom in the way you managed your home. 

On your tongue was the law of kindness, and you extended your hand to all of us. We never left your house empty-handed. You will give cash and kind. I can not forget how you took me shopping Dillard's Houston in late 2002 to buy me lots of quality formal clothes, many of which I still wear today. They have remained unfaded, fashionable, over 20 years later. It amazed me how many of them still size me. You extended this kindness to many relatives. 

Like the virtuous woman, your household is clothed with scarlet, and you make tapestry and fine linen for yourself and your household. You were always decked in beautiful apparel 24/7, whether at work, home, kitchen, bedtime, and  never caught unawares. 

The beautiful decoration, orderliness, and neatness of your home (from kitchen to sitting rooms, studies, bedroom) were breathtaking, constant, and welcoming. I don't know how you did all of these despite being a working woman all through. I never met a house help in the house.

My sincerest and deepest condolences to the Osuji Family.  I will always remember how kind, warm and loving Auntie Bernadette was to my family, especially when my mother was sick and eventually passed away.  I know that you are in eternal peace and with our Heavenly Father.  You will be missed by many, but you left an incredible mark and legacy to your family and community.
