

Our dear and beloved Mother, Betty Nichols Herrington ascended to Heaven to be with Jesus on February 5, 2025 @ 4pm in Houston, Texas. She was born April 13, 1931 in Tenaha, Texas and grew up in Center, Texas.
She was a wonderful Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grandmother, Mother-in-Law & friend who was always present when needed the most. Offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of Clay Road Baptist Church in Houston, Texas for decades leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength and faith in Jesus.
Betty married William Thomas Herrington on October 10, 1949 and went with him when he joined the Air Force. Stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and in Germany during the Korean war, they started their family on September 14, 1950 with the birth of their first son James Michael Herrington. Gerald Thomas Herrington followed in 1958 and John Andrew Herrington in 1965.
Betty was a wonderful wife and homemaker and worked as a purchasing clerk for Spring Branch Independent School district retiring in 1986. She had extensive hobbies including sewing, crocheting, needlepointing, fishing (even winning first place in a Bass Fishing tournament with prize at Lake Livingston. She always caught the first and largest fish when fishing) she also loved traveling the world. She went on numerous cruises with family & church friends but her most cherished travel destination was Jerusalem.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved Husband of 39 years William Thomas Herrington in 1988.
Betty lived a fulfilled life passing away at 93 years old. Full of love, laughter & resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind three sons & their wives, James Michael Herrington and wife Sherri Lynn, Gerald Thomas Herrington and wife Shari Lynne & John Andrew Herrington and wife Mary Lisa. Grandchildren David Michael Herrington, Jennifer Lynn Herrington Barker, husband Ricky Barker, John Thomas Herrington and wife Breann Mae Herrington, Curtis Allen Turner, Jr., Whitney Alexis Lombardy and husband Nick Lombardy & Lauren Ashli Davis. Great Grandchildren Hunter Michael Herrington, Hailey Lynn Barker, Anthony Lee Herrington, Kaylee Ann Herrington and James Michael Herrington along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
Betty had some special care givers that she loved. Dena Debrum and Kiana Roberts worked as her caregivers. They were great companions during the day & night doing puzzles, crossword puzzles, word search, cooking and being there for her for anything she needed. Aspire Hospice provided a wonderful service also. Their entire team went above and beyond to provide comfort and support.
