

Betty Jane Smith, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, is survived by her husband, Stuart B. Smith and her children, Kimberlon Vollentine, husband Forrest, Robert Brown and wife Dian, Ann Hochman and husband Kevin and Kelly McNeill, husband Darrell; grandchildren Austin McNeill, Hunter McNeill, Taylor Brown, Weston Brown, Peyton Brown, Emma Hochman and Jonah Hochman. Also, stepchildren Patty Guyer and Margie Smith and step-grandchildren Amber Cranfill, Ashley Wells, John Smith and Katie Smith. Step-great grandchildren are Caiden Cranfill, Addison Cranfill, Dylans Wells, Dalton Wells. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Farris, of Conway, Arkansas.
Betty started in life as a young diver and cheerleader in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She held various Student Council offices, was voted “Best All Around” in her freshman and sophomore years of college and was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Later in her career she became the Executive Secretary to Vice President of Operations at Century Development Corporation for Walter Cunningham, Apollo 7 astronaut. She worked with Conoco, Inc. from 1976 to 1992 as an advertising coordinator and customer service supervisor. Later she worked for Star Furniture and Pointsmith.
Preceded in death by her parents, J.P.M. Farris, Andrea Farris and brother, Morris Farris. Betty will be remembered by her beautiful smile and effervescent personality. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, at 3pm. The family will receive friends beginning at 1pm for a Visitation.
