

Betty spent her younger life in Houston Heights, TX. She married early in life and was blessed with one son.
Betty owned and operated La Shane's Wig and Beauty Coiffures in the late 1960's. She also worked with her husband as a secretary for Soukup Electric Company in the 1970’s. She also owned and operated Betty Soukup Antiques in Lincoln, TX. in the mid 1980's. Betty and her husband enjoyed the peace and quiet of the country life, rolling hills and wild life on their farm in Lincoln, TX. She was a member of Ladies Oriental Shriners of North America for over 40 years and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she supported all veterans. Betty was baptized as a Christian on December 8, 1968. She was a great partner, wife and now resting peacefully in the Lord’s hands.
Betty was preceded in death by her father Samuel J. King mother Lottie Elizabeth Griffin King; five brothers, Jack, George, Pershing, Jay, and Woodrow King; five sisters, Grace Barrow, Mary Trippodo, Alien Torres, Flora Honea, and infant Dorothy King.
She is survived by her husband of 56+ years, Rudy Soukup, son, Sammy Robertson, his wife Susan Butson Robertson, granddaughter Robin Liska her husband Curt Liska; great-granddaughter, Merrick Liska; great-grandson Samuel Liska and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pall Bearers are Samuel (Sam) King, Thomas (Tom) King, Thomas (Tommy) King, Samuel (Sam) Liska, Merrick Liska, Curt Liska and Honorary Pall Bearer, Marion Tamborello.
All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Visitation, Thursday April 14, 2022 from 6:00-9:00pm. Funeral Service, Friday April 15, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am followed by Committal Service at 11:00am.
