

Betty Lou Whitehead, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with her Lord at the age of 84 on Friday, September 4, 2020. Betty was born on February 21, 1936 in Helena, Arkansas to Clarence Samuel and Lucy Alexander Williams. She married Bobby Lee Whitehead January 4, 1957 and together they raised three children, a daughter and two sons. Betty lived the latter part of her life in Richmond, Texas and passed peacefully at Richmond Health Care Center.
Betty had many talents. She was a seamstress and made clothes for her children, grandchildren and many children in her neighborhood. She crocheted beautiful macramé plant holders, decorated cakes, made woodcrafts and jewelry. Betty was also a talented painter; she gave many beautiful still life and landscape paintings to her family throughout the years. Betty also loved to travel and fish.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her seven brothers: Roger, Loyd, Samuel, Charles, Clarence, Robert, and Donald, her husband, her son Marvin Ray Williams and granddaughter Tessa Barnett.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Copley and husband Robert, son Bobby Lee Whitehead Jr. and wife Beatrice, son Barry Whitehead and wife Mary. Fourteen grandchildren: Carre, Crystal and Justin, Candice, Misty and Bobby Lee III, Brandon, Brianna, Stephen Malone, Michael Danna, Michelle, Nicole Barnett, and Trent, as well as twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Betty will be laid to rest Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m.
