

She was born in Houston, Texas to Donald Spencer Lewis and Florence Marie Kivel Lewis on November 5, 1942. Her daddy, Don, was in the Navy and got home just in time for her birth but he had to go overseas shortly afterwards and did not get to see her again until after the war ended. She was the first born and growing up she lived in Houston, LaMarque, and Bryan, Texas. She graduated from Jones High School and attended Baylor University and then moved to Bridge City, Texas. She met Don Ray McConnell on a camping trip with her family at Balmorhea State Park in 1964 and they were married on March 6, 1965.
They lived in Houston, Texas where they started their family and then moved to Marble Falls, Texas in the 1970s where she and her husband Don lived and worked at Camp Peniel, a non-denominational Christian camp. They returned to their home in the Heights where she lived until her death.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Marie Lewis from Bridge City, Texas and her brother Donald Spencer Lewis, Jr. from Kerrville, Texas, and great niece Elizabeth Grace Leyva from League City, Texas.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Don Ray McConnell, her son, David Wayne McConnell, her granddaughter, Rachael Michelle McConnell, and her great-granddaughter, Autumn Sage McConnell. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela Lewis Arceneaux, her nephews, Jeff and Randy Lewis, Michael Leyva, and niece, Michelle Henricksen, as well as her great nieces and nephews, Brandt, Brinly, and Boston Lewis, Allie and Emma Leyva, and Caleb, Carter, and Cade Henricksen.
Beverly was a strong Christian who loved the Lord and prayed daily for her family. Everyone who knew Beverly loved her. She was an angel on earth and is now an angel in heaven.
Beverly will be cremated and her ashes will be given to her husband for a celebration of life later.
