Billie Karen Cox

Billie Karen Cox was born on October 30, 1959, in Houston, Texas to her parents, Audrey and Billie Cox. Weighing a little over three pounds she remained in the hospital for over two months until she gained weight and was strong enough to begin her life journey. Down Syndrome was not detected at birth because little was known then of the disorder. It was not until later this observation was made. Karen lived a pampered and protected life and her family always stood by to make sure she had everything she needed. This amazing human being touched the lives of hundreds and spent her days preparing small bits of paper to hand out to those she loved. She loved the Lord, and she could often be heard singing out praises to God, over and over, she would exclaim “Hallelujah.” She loved attending church. She was a resident of Humble, Texas at a group home provided by the caring team at Family Matters. She was a member of Grace Church of Humble. She will be missed, and our hearts will forever enfold her.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Audrey Jewel Cox, and Billie Cox.

She is survived by brother Rick and sister-in-law Linda Ramey, brother Ron Ramey, sister Melodie Yorek and a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Connard Melton, Pat Beard, Dean Melton, Shannon Ramey, Alex Daniels, Jake Daniels.

A visitation for Billie will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
