Billie Earl Woodall, 90, of Houston, TX, passed away January 13th, 2022. She was born in Baytown, TX to Bernard Foster and Marjorie Ott. Billie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, and married Thomas (Dean) Woodall, a WWII US Navy veteran. They spent a colorful life together travelling the world with Dean’s work and building lasting friendships with other expats- many of whom were fellow Texans. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and in her younger years, Billie played tennis and golf. Throughout her life, Billie was a voracious reader of fiction and periodicals- even packing trunks of books for residences abroad. She was also a keen bridge player and thrived off hosting friendly tournaments in her home. Though an amateur of the game, her decades of experience, never give-up attitude, and ability to read players made her a worthy opponent. In retirement, Billie took on the roles of primary caregiver to her mother and guardianship of her grandson- providing further testaments to her nurturing spirit and inner strength. She is survived by her son, Alford Sweat, grandchildren Gregory Sweat and Samantha Vann, and four great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm, January 20th, at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park (13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX).
Instead of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to Shriners Children’s Hospital (https://www.shrinerschildrens.org)
