

Bonnie Clayton of Kingwood passed away quietly July 26, 2012 at the age of 82. She leaves a loving husband, James Lee Fairchild, sons Jack Bowman, Jerry Clayton, David Clayton, David Fairchild, daughters Sharon Edwards and Rene York, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ray Ingle, and sisters, Sarah Rutland and Virginia Gerald. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Ingle, daughters, Susan Adkins and Cecile Benedict, her late husband Bill Clayton, and grandsons, Billy Clayton and Shawn Adkins. She also leaves behind extensive family and friends.
Bonnie Faye Ingle was born in Bethel,TN, and lived in numerous cities across the U.S. before moving to Houston with her then husband Bill Clayton in 1967. She was active in the Main Street Merchants Association in Humble and was also known as the voice of the Chamber of Commerce. Bonnie was a serial entrepreneur in Humble, where she owned Clayton's Office Supply and BJ's Department Store before opening the Sandpiper's Nest in 1987. She later reopened Discount Office Center with Jim Fairchild, which operated until 2007.
Bonnie was a force of life. She was an incredible woman who loved people, and was always ready with a smile and an honest opinion. She was a great southern cook, storyteller, entertainer, friend, wife, and mother. Her quick wit kept everyone on their toes to the very end. She will be remembered with great love and affection.
Visitation will be Monday, July 30th from 4-8 pm. The memorial service will be held at Brookside's Family Chapel on Tuesday, July 31at 2 pm. Interment will follow.
