I met BJ eight years ago, and I always loved hearing his stories.  My favorite was his story of getting to bat against Nolan Ryan before Ryan was famous and hit the big leagues.  He described it not as batting, but as watching Ryan throw three fast balls by him while he stood in the batting position with his mouth open in awe.  Just like he could call home runs before they happened, he said he called it then and there that Ryan would be big.  I'm going to miss him and his stories, and Astros games will not be the same without him.  I was very glad to know him.

We have you all in our thoughts and prayers, and may your family love for one another help you through; BJ will be missed.  So many great memories!!

He was a sweet man.  I will remember his love for the game of baseball and how he would even come watch my kids play and cheer them on.  He will be missed.

PaPa you will be dearly missed you were loved very much by us.  I am going to miss our talks about "The Bentley" and Jeff will miss the afternoon company.  He will continue to play the lottery in Canada just for you!!! We cherrish all the memories we have with you..

We truly enjoyed getting to know BJ when we had adjacent season ticket seats at the Astros games for several years. Together, we rooted the Astros to their first World Series (a picture of all of us at the first WS game at Minute Maid Park will forever be on a our photoframe) and we shared our lighthearted suffering as they declined. We know he's now out of pain and in a better place, probably shagging fly balls, bragging about his grandkids, and hopefully enjoying a few honkeytonks.

Life Like sand in the hour glass,BJ was the first grand  baby & nephew to a very large family,our chest stayed pushed out with pride,his life had good & tough times & he was able to handle both.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  Kepping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
