Brian was a cherished father, friend, and beloved member of his community. Brian was an avid sports enthusiast who loved nothing more than watching games with friends and family. GO STROS! Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he relished the serenity that came with casting a line and waiting patiently for a catch. Brian was also a connoisseur of barbecue, taking great delight in grilling up a feast for all to enjoy. His love for his friends and family knew no bounds, extending beyond gatherings and into the everyday moments that made life special. Brian was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, and his loving, caring, and giving nature was a beacon of light for all who knew him. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor that often led him to be the life of the party, and his silliness inspired those around him to embrace life's lighter side. He is survived by his parents, John & Marilyn Murtagh; daughter and son in law Andrew & Jennifer Cortez; grand children, Alexia, Emma, Lilliana & Amelia; and sister Catherine Gonzalez, niece Hailey Murtagh, nephew Jon Gonzalez, nephew Butch and his “bonus grand children”C.J., Tristan, Maddison, and Skyler. He was adored more than words can express. Brian's legacy of laughter, love, and kindness will live on through them, as well as the countless lives he touched during his time with us. As we remember Brian's life and the joy he brought to so many, we hold on to the many cherished memories that will forever keep him close in our hearts.
