

Buster was born to Douglas and Pauline Toland on September 16, 1942. Buster graduated from Reagan High School in 1962.
Soon after he joined the Marine Corp in 1963 where he served until 1984. He did 2 tours in Vietnam. He was an avid metal detector for 50 years and belonged to the Semper Fi Society in Sealy, TX and a proud member of the VFW Post 8790. He was president of the Galveston Island Treasure Club and Treasurer of the Montgomery Metal Detecting Club.
Buster is survived by loving wife of 24 years, Gail LeWinter Toland; two children, Bruce Toland and Christine Toland; two stepchildren, Amy Dubinsky (Adam and grandchildren Lucas and Shayn) and Jeffrey LeWinter (Jen and granddaughter Makenzee); grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by parents Douglas and Pauline Toland; brother, Joe; and sister, Laura Ann Mitchell.
Buster proudly lived in Texas his entire life.
A visitation for Buster will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. A reception will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at VFW Post 8790, 1560 Veterans of Foreign Wars Wy Second Floor, Second Floor, Houston, TX 77055.
