Calvin Roy Roach, 98, of Porter, Texas, passed away on January 14, 2026. He was born in San Angelo, Texas, on April 6, 1927, to John B. Roach and Allie Mae Watts. Calvin met the love of his life, Georgie, in Houston, Texas, and they were married on March 3, 1946. He worked as a painter for Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after many years of dedicated service. Calvin proudly served in the United States Navy, joining in 1945 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1946 due to health reasons.
Calvin was a master Mason, a Scottish Rite Mason, and a devoted Shriner. He was a member of the Arabia Shrine and was deeply involved with the Texas Range Riders, where he was one of the founding members and the last remaining member to pass away. He loved being a Shriner and held many positions during his 50 years with the Arabia Shriners. Known for his generosity, Calvin was always there to help anyone in need and made countless friends along the way. He had a passion for horses and enjoyed riding for the Arabia Knights, competing in events and traveling across Texas with fellow Shriners. Calvin and his wife Georgie were rarely seen apart—two peas in a pod—and he never worked alone, always having his beautiful and loving wife by his side.
Calvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgie Roach; father, John Beverly; mother, Allie Mae Watts; brothers, J.B. Roach, Jimmy Roach, and Sammie Roach; and his nephew, Calvin “Butch” Roach.
