

Mr. Calvin Ray Stephens went home to be with Lord on March 1, 2020 surrounded by his wife, Alma, and family in his hospital room in Houston, TX. He was 60. He died peacefully after being hospitalized on multiple occasions throughout the past year.
Calvin was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on May 22, 1959, to the late Orethar Jermany Stephens and Calvin “Sonny” Stephens Jr. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Wade and Vora Jermany of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Calvin and Ada Stephens, Sr. of Magnolia Arkansas.
Cal Ray (as he was known by family and friends) was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on May 22, 1959 and was a believer in God and accepted Christ at a young age while attending the Homes Near Missionary Baptist Church located in Magnolia, Arkansas. He graduated from Magnolia High School 1977. Cal Ray enlisted into the United States Army on May 18, 1978 and served honorably until January 1, 1984 where he attained the rank of staff sergeant. He along with his family moved to Houston, Tx in 1985 where he begin employment with the United States Postal Service in 1987 where he remained employed up until his passing.
He united in holy matrimony to Alma R. Stephens, September 14, 1978. To this union four children were born, two daughters and two sons.
He leaves to mourn his passing a loving wife, Alma Ree Stephens of the home. Shakeitha Laraine Stephens of the home; Narada Lamorris Stephens (Monja) of Amberg, Germany; Sarah Melissa Stephens of the home; and Calvin Ray. Stephens, Jr. of the home; seven grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Tony Curtis Stephens of Compton, California; Maverick Earl Stephens (Tracy) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Vincent Romero Stephens (Louella) of the home; Rena E. Nash of Mesa, Arizona; and the late Angela M. Stephens of Magnolia, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
