

Carl Vincent Lawson went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2025, at the age of 94. Carl was born in Houston, Texas on October 11, 1931, to Samuel and Aline (Wade) Lawson. He was proudly a member of the United States Navy from July of 1951 to 1955. Carl was a member of the Naval Dental Academy, he received the Medal of Good Conduct, and he was also a Sharpshooter in the Navy. Carl was employed as a Meat Cutter for 39 years.
Carl was a loving husband to Virgie Brown Lawson for almost 72 years and Father to two sons Terry Lawson, David Lawson, daughter Donna Lawson Leonardos, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Carl loved to go fishing and taking care of his yard and flower gardens he could grow anything. He loved to Barbecue with his homemade secret sauce for big family functions which brought him great pleasure. Carl fought cancer for 21 years with courage and all that he had. He developed dementia which over the years both these diseases overtook his body and mind. He is now in the presence of Jesus not having to fight anymore.
Carl was ordained as a Deacon in March of 1975 at Bauman Road Baptist Church; he also served as a deacon at Rittenhouse Baptist Church. He was currently a member of Gateway Church. He loved spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone he would meet. He wanted them to know that accepting Jesus as their Savior was the only way to enter Heaven for eternity.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Aline Lawson, his brothers Samuel Lawson, wife Ruth, William Lawson, Jack Lawson and sister Juanita Boggess, husband Carlton.
Carl is survived by his loving wife Virgie Lawson, sons Terry Lawson, wife Patty, David Lawson, wife Angela, daughter Donna Leonardos, husband Jeff, grandchildren Jena Ermis, husband Clint, Eric Leonardos, Philip Leonardos, wife Andrea, Jared Leonardos, Brent Lawson and Cody Lawson, wife Cristen and great grandchildren Luke, Carter, Caleb and Maddie Leonardos, Hunter and Emily Ermis and Lauren Lawson. Also, by his sister Billie Stansel who is 95 years old.
Carls family would like to thank the Millennium Hospice Group and Freedom Caregivers for the wonderful care they gave him. We are forever grateful, and Gateway Church for the love and support, they provided.
A visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on November 3, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at Gateway Church, 2930 Rayford Road, Spring, TX 77386, on November 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A reception will follow from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm.
A graveside service will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on November 4, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
Pallbearers will include Eric Leonardos, Luke Leonardos, Philip Leonardos, Carter Leonardos, Jared Leonardos, Caleb Leonardos, Brent Lawson, Hunter Ermis, and Cody Lawson.
Honorary pallbearers are Jena Ermis, Lauren Lawson, and Maddie Leonardos.
