Carl Lessley Sims, 80, born February 21, 1935 in New Waverly, TX entered into eternal rest July 26, 2015. Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Velma Sims and his parents: Issac and Maggie Sims. Left to cherish his precious memories: sons: Danny Sims and wife Sandy, Donald Sims, Charles Sims and wife Shirley; daughter, Susan Powers and husband Gary; grandchildren: Melissa Allen, Joshua Sims, Brandy Wilson, Megan Murray and husband Matt, Cameron Sims, Lexie Powers and Joey Powers; great grandchildren: Caleb Allen, Gracie Allen, Lindsey Allen, Aaron Allen, Nolan Eichinger and Noah Sims. Visitation will be Friday, July 31, 2015 from 5-8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church Onalaska, 463 S FM 356, Onalaska, TX 77360. Graveside Services will be held at 2pm at Gourd Creek Cemetery in New Waverly, TX.
