In 1976, Carmen joined St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she remained a devoted member for 49 years. She was also a faithful member of the Ladies Auxiliary, serving actively until her passing. For 35 years, she taught religious education to first communicants and generously volunteered her time in parish activities, including fundraising for the annual bazaar, selling raffle tickets, and preparing Louisiana gumbo for church events.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lula Gordon Bush; sisters Agatha A. Bush and Mary Alice Bush; and brothers Ronald Bush, Donald Bush, and Alphonse Bush.
