Mrs. Leonardon was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and worked at Shell Oil in the 1950s, where she met her future husband Gilbert. She had many activities that she enjoyed, including Tai Chi, meditation, and gardening. Her yard was well landscaped and the envy of the neighborhood.
In her numerous travels, Carol saw the abundant wildlife that she watched and photographed. On these trips, she made long walks in the forests, stopping frequently to see a bird or animal with her binoculars. At home, she was thrilled at feeding the birds and squirrels, giving them ample water on hot days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Charles and Evelyn; her brother, the late Charles Moss; and her loving husband, the late Gilbert Leonardon, who passed away on the 23rd of October 2009. She is survived by her son, Richard Leonardon, of Vienna, Virginia; niece and nephew, Amber and Dustin both of Phoenix, Arizona.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 28th of October, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 29th of October, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where Deacon Jack Alexander, will officiate.
