Carol Jean Spagnola, 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2022. She was born in Walsenburg, Colorado, on June 21, 1934 to Valentine and Julia Supancic. Carol married her high school sweetheart, Louis Spagnola, on July 14, 1956. They were married for 41 years until Lou passed away in 1997 so he’s been waiting 25 years for her to join him.
During their marriage, Carol stayed home to raise her three children and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She and Lou loved to travel and made frequent trips domestically, especially to Las Vegas, where they had their honeymoon, and some in Europe. They also enjoyed music and live entertainment. Carol’s favorite song was “Last Date.” Because Lou worked in aerospace and for NASA, Carol lived in many different places like Denver, Colorado, Tuscon Arizona, Titusville, Florida, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Houston, Texas, which gave her a unique perspective of our great country. One of Carol’s favorite pastimes was playing bingo at the church with her friends. She also enjoyed day trips with the senior group from the church as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis, and her grandson, Adrian Spagnola. Carol is survived by her three children: Lugene Spagnola Vincent and her husband, Nick Vincent, Gary Spagnola, and Karen Spagnola and her husband, Michael Stepanian, and Carol’s brother, Karl Supancic. She also leaves behind two grandchildren: Gina-Marie Vincent Runnels and her husband, Rob, and Nicholas Vincent, along with her great grandson, Hayes Runnels.
God blessed Carol with a long, full life. She will be greatly missed. A funeral service for Carol Spagnola will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077
