Catalina Reyna Martinez

Catalina Reyna Martinez, 85, passed into eternal rest in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and family pet, Louie on July 9, 2021. She was born and raised in Mexico, but immigrated to the United States in 1952. There she married Antonio Lucio Martinez. They lived in the Rio Grande Valley for five years and while there, they had four children in Edinburg, Texas. After moving to Houston, Texas, they had six more children. Catalina became a US citizen on July 2, 1999. She had a career in food service. Gardening, cooking and sewing were her passions.

Catalina is preceded in death by her husband Antonio L. Martinez, son Joel Martinez, granddaughter Deanna Carol Roberts, parents Ventura Reyna and Martina Aguilar. Left to cherish her memories are daughters: Elizabeth Roberts, Rachel Alamilla, Esther Martinez, Yolanda Rodriguez, sons: Tony Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Abel Martinez, Felix Martinez, David Martinez, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather for services on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the funeral service to start at 6:00 p.m..
