Celia began her beautiful life of 90 years on April 13th, 1934 to parents Santiago and Angelina Ayala of Waelder, TX in Gonzales County where she was raised and attended school. In her teens, the family would pick cotton in the Texas panhandle and that is where she met her future husband, Joe Delgado Rosas, who lived near the community of Jeddo, located just north of Waelder. Dad always told the story of how he would help carry mom’s cotton sack since it would become too heavy throughout the day. They would see each other at dances where he played the accordion with town bands. Celia married her beloved husband on May 1st, 1955, and she moved from town to live with Joe’s family on the family farm near Jeddo. Celia worked as a cashier at Jansky’s Cafe and Miller’s General Store while Joe worked at the local Phillips 66 gas station. In 1959, they moved and settled in Houston where they prospered with the better job opportunities and where they raised their growing family. Celia was more of a city girl anyway. Celia and Joe were married for 62 years until his passing in 2017. Afterwards, Celia spent most of her remaining time with daughter Connie in the Dallas/Fort Worth area until June 26, 2024 when the Lord in Heaven took her home.
Survivors include her children and their spouses Connie and Kevin Day of Euless TX; Joe Rosas Jr. of Houston; Daniel and Sheila Rosas of Burlington, KY; Manuel and Karen Rosas of Houston; grandchildren Danny Rosas, Renee Bays, David Day, Kyle Rosas, and Collin Rosas; great grandchildren Harley Dice, Logan Rosas, Kolton Rosas, Emma Rosas, Gavin Bays; and great, great grandchild Maggie Dice. Celia was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her parents Santiago and Angelina, her sister Elvira Rosas of Houston, and her brother Richard Ayala of Waelder.
Celia loved her family very much and prayed for everyone including extended family and friends. Celia will be remembered for her quick and beautiful smile. She is dearly missed.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 2nd at 10am at St. Jerome Catholic Church (8825 Kempwood Dr, Houston, TX) and then laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
