Charlene (Char) Cummings, 86, of Houston, passed away October 15, 2017. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 20, 1931 to Harry and Evelyne Seate. She was married to John Cummings for 38 years.
Charlene attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, where she was a drum major and then attended University of Houston. Charlene was the proud owner of Cummings Equipment. She was a member of Sweet Adelines, Intl. for 53 years and served every aspect both musically and administratively, and had a passion for singing acapella 4 part harmony in the barbershop style.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison D Seate and Myrtle Evelyne Seate; brother, Joseph Edgar Seate; husband, John Willard Cummings; son, John Willard Cummings, Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Joy Tice and Holly Ritter; daughter-in-law, Karen Cummings; granddaughters, Jennifer Hommerding and husband, Walt; Jacee Wolf and husband, Kelly; Robin Wargo and husband, Darren; Randi Ritter; grandson, Joey Tice and wife Chantell; Great grandchildren, Ava and Sofia Hommerding; Allison and Keaton Wolf; Tegan and Tyler Wargo; Lennon Ritter; Andrew, Zayla and Taeven Tice; and lifelong friend, Anne Runnels.
