Charles worked for many years as a regional manager for Weingarten’s and Gerlands before opening his own store Brennan’s Food Center in Houston.
Charles had many hobbies, some of which included estate sales, gardening and playing poker and dominos. He was kindly known as and called the Domino King.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Jack Brennan, Edward Brennan, Lawrence Brennan, Bertha Kring, Catherine Fischnar, Sophie Maury, Joe Brennan and Ellen Malaney. He is survived by his loving wife, Earlene Hanus Brennan; his children, Sharon Brennan and life partner, Paula Hollis, Brenda Knoll and husband Don, Patrick Brennan and wife Mary, Russell Brennan and Lisa Simmons and husband Mike; and his grandchildren, Ryan Knoll and wife Catherine, Ashley Knoll, Brandie and Lacey Simmons, Dustin, Colby and Quinton Brennan.
