

Charles Don Brice, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2020 in Katy, Tx. He was born on August 11, 1934 in San Saba, Tx to Jack and Lucy May Brice. He graduated from Tahoka High School in 1952 and proudly attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with a BBA in Business in 1957. He met his wife, Mary Jo, while attending Texas Tech and they were married on July 6, 1957. He was commissioned into the United States Navy on July 1, 1957, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. He served three years in active duty spending time in Rhode Island, Georgia, California and Texas.
He moved to Houston in 1966 where he started the Don Brice Insurance Agency and ran a successful business for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jo; son in law, Dennis Lawrence and three brothers and their wives, Jack (Jessie), Hollis (Susie), and Weldon (Patsy).
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Lawrence; his son, Dr. Neel Brice and his wife Suzanne; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew Brice and Kyle Brice along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Sharon Cole, Jenet Nelson, Cynthia Battle and Grace Care Center of Katy for the loving care and compassion they gave to Don over the last several years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ballard House in Katy which provides temporary housing to individuals and their families who are hospitalized or receiving treatment for a serious medical condition. Their website is www.theballardhouse.org.
A visitation for Don will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A burial will occur Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
