

Charles was born in Houston, TX on November 13, 1928 to Charles and Rosa Mae (Frazier) McFadden. He and his sisters lost their father in May 1932.
Charles enlisted in the Navy in 1945 at the age of 17. While he was a seaman first class on the sub tender USS Fulton, he witnessed the atomic bomb testing at Bikini Atoll. He was proud to have served his country and loved sharing his military stories with family and friends. After being honorably discharged in 1947 at the US Naval air station in Alameda, CA, he returned to Houston and started his career in plumbing. He was a member of the Plumbers Local #68 for 70+ years. In the mid 80’s he along with other partners formed McFadden & Associates. Upon his retirement he enjoyed his lifelong hobbies of hunting, fishing, bird watching and gardening.
He was a member of the Garden Oaks Church of Christ for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris, his parents, his sisters, Marion Reddick, Hazel Gordon and Doris Kindrick and his brother-in-law Charlie Reddick.
He is survived by his children, Charles (Marisa) McFadden, Kenneth (Coleen) McFadden and Patricia (Brian) Odom; Grandchildren, Keith McFadden, Kevin McFadden and Jennifer Odom; 8 great-grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends.
Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him but he is now home with his family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 5-7 pm at the Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Houston, TX. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at 10 am at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Houston, TX. Interment will follow in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
