Following a brief football career at the University of Texas, he joined the Army where he honorably served for several years in the US and in Germany. He earned his degree in business from the University of Houston, and went on to a career in the construction industry, including most recently 18 years with Standard Industrial Structures Corporation. In his leisure time, Charlie was known for his love of cruising the Caribbean with his family, and trying his luck with the slot machines.
Charlie is survived by his wife Claudette Parker, children Scott Meyers (Alissa), Amanda Meyers Glaser (Paul), and Cortney Parker, along with grandchildren Avery and Patrick Meyers, and siblings Donald Meyers, Judy Meyers Perkins, and Michael Meyers. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
