Charlie Barlow was born on May 4, 1943, in a little town called Bordersville, in Humble Texas. He is the 7th of 13 children of Clinton and Eugenia Barlow. Charlie attended Bordersville Elementary School, then he attended Carver Senior High School. He was a very humble person, and yet a Warrior when he had to be and had a charismatic personality and would often say some hilarious things at times that would make you laugh, then stop and think. He always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed dancing and singing in his youth, and he never complained, his saying when asked how he was doing was “Ahhh pretty good” to everyone he met.
Charlie gave his life to Christ at an early age at Church of God and Christ in Bordersville. He later formed a Men’s Quartet, with 4 other men from Bordersville where they traveled and sang everywhere for the Lord. Later he joined Bridge of Life Church and gave his life to Christ again and truly changed his ways. He loved going to church every Sunday morning and Bible Study on Wednesday night, then listening to gospel music daily. He was well loved by everyone who got to know him.
He met and married Elizabeth Williams in 1962 after their first child was born. Their union was blessed with six children, Victor Charles Barlow, Lisa Elaine Barlow-Bolden, Michelle Yvonne Barlow-Crews, Vincent Carl Barlow, Bobby Blaine Barlow, and Vernon Christopher Barlow. Charlie loved his children. They divorced in 1973 and much later he dated Gloria Brenson and assisted her in raising their daughter Charlette Brenson, after she passed away.
Charlie began working his first job as a Laborer with the groundwork and construction of all the Kingwood community when it was first being built as well as Forest Cove and the golf course. Then he worked as a Porter for one of the Biggest Chevrolet companies in Texas, Robbins Chevrolet and in 1969 he purchased his first stick shift Chevy Impala. That was his baby. He enjoyed horseback riding and motor cross racing and outdoor BBQs with his family and friends.
Charlie was called home on Saturday, November 26, 2022, in Humble, Texas. He is preceded in death by his Father, Clinton Barlow, his Mother Eugenia Barlow, his brothers, Clinton Barlow Jr, David Barlow, Charles Barlow, James Barlow, Donald Ray Barlow, his Sisters Freddie Mae Barlow-Green, Peggy Louise Barlow.
