Intense, creative, and incredibly resourceful, Christina was a natural artist and outdoorsman. As a child Christina was almost fearless. As soon as she could walk, she was climbing—bookshelves, trees, anything that offered a better view. She marched with stubborn determination throughout her life, and that same adventurous spirit carried her as she battled many personal challenges. She was always curious and exploring. When she became a mother, she couldn’t wait to teach her children the names of birds, fish, and flowers.
Christina built a life in Texas rooted in adventure and family. She and her husband, Bobby, created a home for their children, raising turkeys, chickens, and (her favorite) ducks. She was happiest with her children, tossing her cast net and bringing them new fascinations from the water and teaching them about the world.
Her children were her “why,” and she loved them fiercely.
Christina is survived by her husband, Bobby Adams; her three children, Madeleine “Wolf” Townsend, Samual Adams, and Giles Adams; her father, Robert W. Bruce; her sister, Lauren Bruce; her stepmother, Janice Bruce; her aunt Christine Bruce-Hilliard; her uncle Carter Bruce; her cousin, Luke Townsend, and her cousin Mitchell Bruce. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Kay and Giles Townsend, and Valerie and Leonard Bruce; her cousin, Cody Townsend, and her aunt Robin Bruce.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 21st, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness, time spent outdoors, and moments of curiosity in Christina’s memory.
