Born in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands, Christoffel lived a full and vibrant life shaped by curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for both his Dutch heritage and the life he built in America.
A passionate motorbike rider and cyclist, Christoffel spent countless hours exploring the Dutch countryside. He had a deep love for horses and was captivated by the drama and thrill of western movies, boxing matches, MMA fights, and wrestling. The energy of carnivals and circuses, the sound of marching band music, and the melodies of Dutch street organs were constant companions throughout his life.
A gifted artist and generous host, Christoffel loved to draw and welcome visitors with open arms—and often, a sweet treat from his kitchen. He had a love for baking desserts, much to the delight of friends and family. His enthusiasm for futbol (soccer) never wavered, and he shared that passion with loved ones.
Christoffel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leonarda Segura Ter Harkel, and his parents, Stephanie Maria and Jan Ter Harkel. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Sonja Stefanie, Suzette Jean, and Christoffel Thomas; his cherished granddaughter, Kristy Louise; and his dear siblings, Henny Koeslag and Jan Frans Ter Harkel.
His life was a beautiful blend of Dutch tradition and Texas warmth, and his legacy of kindness, humor, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
