Christopher Allen Mills passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019. He was born in Houston, Texas on February 26th, 1972 to Dick and Diane Mills. Chris grew up in Houston, his ambition with music placing him amongst other artists at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where he played the trumpet. He later transferred to Memorial High School where he graduated in 1990. He attended Ole Miss, the University of Texas in Austin, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, where he obtained his private pilot license. During the year of 1996, Chris met and soon married Eva Einarsdottir in Prescott, Arizona, and together had two beautiful children. Around this time, he enlisted in the army and was stationed in Landstuhl, Germany where his daughter, Kalí Harpa Allen, was born. After his discharge from the army in 1998, Chris, Eva and Kalí moved back to Prescott where four years later their son, Gunnar Blake Allen, was born. Years later, he and Eva divorced, and Chris moved back to Houston.
Chris was a very passionate and caring individual who loved the outdoors, connecting with people, and helping those in need. He sang with the Singing Boys of Houston and was selected to perform with the Houston Symphony playing the trumpet. He played the piano and the guitar which he continued to play later on in life, introducing music and the arts to his children. He was an avid sports fan who loyally supported the Houston home teams. He played baseball and soccer from 1st grade into high school. Chris spent a lot of time on the family farm in Brenham, TX with his paternal grandparents and numerous cousins, helping his Paw with the cattle, fishing, and riding his horse. He also enjoyed spending time with his maternal grandparents and family at their beach house in Galveston, TX.
Above all else, Chris loved and adored his two children immensely. They were his world, and there was nothing that he wouldn’t do for them.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Dick Mills, and his uncle, James D. Mills. He is survived by his children; Kalí Harpa Allen and Gunnar Blake Allen; mother Diane Mills; sisters Jenny Martin and husband Benoit, and Kimberly Suckow and husband Christopher. Also surviving him are his nieces and nephew, Emma and Tristan Martin and Layla and Savannah Tutor; aunts, Glyssie Berberian and husband David, Carolyn Mills, Cathy Edwards and husband John, along with countless other family members. He is also survived by his former spouse, Eva Einarsdottir. A Celebration of Life will be taking place on Thursday, June 6th at 2:00 pm at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, with Reverend Harry Meissner officiating. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the funeral home immediately following the service.
