Claudio is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Silvia Margarita Garcia;
sons, Claudio Garcia III and Jaime Adrian Garcia; grandson, Noah James Garcia;
granddaughter, Evy Victoria Olaya Garcia; siblings, Hilda Irene, Elsa Idalia, and
Marco Antonio Garcia Martinez, and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended
family. He was preceded in death by his parents Claudio C. Garcia and Josefa
Martinez Garcia.
Claudio was born on March 30, 1951 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. He moved to
Houston, TX at the age of 18 where he began his career of welding, working along
side his grandfather and father. He met Silvia at the age of 21 and would go on to
have 2 sons, Claudio and Jaime. Claudio retired after a 44 year career as a welder/
pipe fitter at the age of 62. Claudio was a wonderful and devoted husband, father,
and grandfather and teacher. He always taught us to stand tall, be proud, and
know ourselves in all situations and supported us all throughout the many
accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. He was a man of few words but
significant actions. A man of little rest and hard work. He always seen working
around the house; doing yard work, car maintenance, cleaning and walking at the
park. When resting he enjoyed watching tv with his wife or listening to music
from the likes of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. His greatest
accomplishment was being a grandfather and took extreme pride in his two
grandchildren. Abuelo, as he was called was dearly loved by his grand kids. He
enjoyed taking them to school, spending every minute possible with them, and
spoiling them.
With respect to his wishes, Claudio is to be cremated and brought home with no
memorial service.
