AUX SOINS DE
Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek
Cornelia Rae Snell Sigmier, age 87, passed away July, 6, 2021 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. Beloved wife of Bernard Sigmier, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gertrude Mae McElevaine Snell; siblings Rose Snell St. John, Charles C. Snell, Jr., Virginia Snell Andrews, Alexine Snell Becker, and Annie Snell Schwegel. She is survived by siblings, Walter K. Snell and Peggy Snell Chesser, both of Montgomery, AL. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Connie was a devout Catholic and devotee of St. Therese of the Little Flower. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama and later moved with her family to Dayton, Ohio. As a young woman, her work as a travel agent took her many places and eventually drew her to what she called "paradise", Honolulu, Hawaii, where she lived for many years. When she retired, she relocated to north Georgia, where she met and married her "sweetheart", Bernie. They lived happily in Canton, Georgia for 24 years. They had recently begun a new chapter of their life together in Houston at the Village on the Park retirement community.
Connie will be remembered as a kind and giving soul, loved by her family and all who knew her. Connie will surely follow the words of her beloved St. Therese, "After my death, I will let fall a shower of roses. I will spend my heaven doing good upon earth. I will rise up a mighty host of little saints. My mission is to make God loved..."
Services will be held on Thursday, July 15 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Community on West Rd. in Houston, TX with Viewing at 10:00 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at the Houston National Cemetery on Veterans Memorial Dr. at 12:45 pm.
