He was born on July 30, 1933 to Ysidro and Frances Almanza in St Paul, Minnesota and later moved to Alvin, Tx where he grew up. He was the oldest of 7 children. His father was the preacher at Bethlehem Church in Houston and it was here that he met Rosie Mojica. Prior to getting married, he did his training at Fort Bliss in El Paso, and then enlisted into the Armed Forces and served in the Army; he was stationed at Fort Drum in New York. It was soon after returning home that he married the love of his life Rosie Mojica on September 9, 1956. He dedicated his life to his work and his family. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved spending time with. He was an active member at Christian Temple Assembly of God where he served as deacon for many years. He made sure we all dressed our best for church and he loved to wear his suits. He worked at Stewart and Stevenson as assistant manager for over 20 years until he started his own business C&R Industrial Supply (which stands for Chris & Rosie) and ran the business until he was 86 years old.
