Curtis Dixon, 61, of Houston, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2019. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 15, 1957 to parents Elouise Johnson Dixon and Edward Joseph Dixon.
At an early age, Curtis was baptized at Second Corinthians Church. He attended and graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School. He had a passion for music, dancing, spending time at church and even cooking, which led him to become a butcher. On January 4, 1986, Curtis married Wendolyn Kay Rouser, who precedes him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents Elouise and Edward Dixon.
Curtis began his career in the school district, both in Louisiana and here in Houston where he worked for Spring ISD as a Building Operator Supervisor for Reynolds Elementary School. Since then he met and proposed to his new found love Winifred Adams and gained an amazing bonus son, Terrance R. Adams.
Curtis is survived by his daughter; Mariah Dixon; fiancé Winifred Adams and her son, Terrance R. Adams; siblings: Allen Dixon and wife, Gail, David Dixon (Olivia), Paulette Willis Dixon (Wallace), Valerie Simon and husband, Rick, and Edward Dixon (Gail); aunt, Shannon Jefferson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive extended family and friends for visitation on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A burial will be held at Brookside Memorial Park with a repast immediately following at Brookside Funeral Home.
