Curtis Earl Nelson

Curtis Earl Nelson, age 77, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Huntsville, TX. Mr. Nelson was born in Houston, TX on November 5, 1935. He lived in Aldine, TX for over 65 years. He co-owned Nelson Livestock during the 70’s and Northside Air-conditioning and Heating in the 80’s. He was also a minister that served the Gospel Assembly Church for 22 years.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn Nelson. Two sons; Calvin Nelson and his wife Tracy, and Carlton Nelson. A daughter; Cheryl Butzke and her husband Tim. Grandchildren; Beth, Jeremy, Janice, John, Kayla, Jordyn, Craig and Courtney and four great grandchildren. Three brothers; Willie Jewel Nelson, Jr., Milton Miles Nelson and his wife Shirley, and Job James Nelson and his wife Linda. Numerous nieces and nephews. Very special friends, Vernon and Aline Heathman.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by two sons; Curtis “Chip” Earl Nelson Jr., and Craig Alan Nelson.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home with the Rev. David Emmons, Rev. Larry Allen, Rev. Rick Jolley and Rev. Pedro Reyes officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
