With deep sorrow and profound love, the family of Cyndie Peiqun Sheng — beloved wife, mother, and daughter — announce her passing on Monday, January 17, 2022, surrounded by loved ones and mourned by all.
Cyndie was born on February 22, 1971 in Shanghai, China, where she lived and attended school, including Nanyang Model Middle School, where she met Ken, who would later become her dear husband and eternal companion. In her college years, Cyndie moved to the United States, where she studied physics at Marquette University. After Cyndie and Ken were married, they settled in Houston, Texas, where they raised three beautiful children, built her dream home, and started a business called Enuit.
Cyndie is a devout disciple of Jesus Christ and served the Lord in various capacities as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beginning in the Chinese Branch and then in the Sienna II Ward, she held a deep love for those with whom she served. Cyndie had an unquenchable love for the scriptures and an unfailing desire to live by them. She listened intently to promptings of the Spirit; she loved the missionaries and missionary work. Above all, she loved the Lord.
Cyndie is survived by her sweetheart and husband, Ken Han; her daughters and sons- in-law, Grace Kane and Denise Jimenez, Benson Kane and Alejandro Jimenez; her darling son, Gordon Han; her parents, Xinfang Cai and Baozhong Sheng; her sister, Shirley Sheng; and her mother-in-law, Jianping Zhou. Cyndie truly gave her heart and soul to building her family. She approached life elegantly, humbly. She enjoyed peaceful walks with her husband, with whom conversation never seemed to run out; reading nighttime scriptures and playing piano with Gordon; and having heart-to- heart conversations and exchanging funny stories about Gordon with Grace and Denise. She loved and attended the temple often with Ken and encouraged her family to do the same. Hers was “a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God” (D&C 88:119).
A funeral service for Cyndie will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in Cyndie’s honor to the Humanitarian Aid Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at https://bit.ly/3nNaGDR.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialoaksfunerals.com for the Han family.
