Cynthia Diane Benford

afternoon, November 15, 2024. She was born June 22, 1958, in Houston,

Texas, daughter of Henry Lee Roberts and L.C. Roberts.

Cynthia Diane Benford graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in

1976. She retired from Harris Health with 14 years as dietitian aide. She

loved going to work spending time with her coworkers and providing

service and communicating with the people she encountered. She

enjoyed spending time with her family for gathering, laughing, singing,

dancing and just having a great time. If you knew Cynthia’s family then

you will understand this that there is no party like a Gano Street Party.

Cynthia was a proud and loving mother to her four children

Sagatoria Roberts, Tracy Vennus, Monique Roberts, and Manuel

“Fat-Boy” Roberts.

Cynthia met the love of her life Ronnie Benford in 1992. They

were married on July 19, 1993 and shared thirty years of

happiness together. She loved Ronnie and no one else could

compare. She would say “God blessed me with a great husband”.

She bragged about him daily to her family and friends. She held

him to the highest standard of what a husband was. Ronnie was

there with her until her last breath. He honored his vows to Cynthia

to love and to cherish, until death do us part. Cynthia was a proud

and active member of Second Mount Olive Baptist Church,

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, L.C Roberts, sister

Margaret Perkins (Ratsy), brother Henry Roberts, niece Bridgette

Haley(Nikki), and sister-in-law Mary Roberts (Tina).

Cynthia is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ronnie Benford;

three sisters: Carolyn Hampton, Peggy London, and Sharon

Roberts; one brother, De’Andra Roberts; three daughters,

Sagatoria Roberts, Tracy Vennus (Garland Vennus), and Monique

Roberts; one son, Manuel “Fat-Boy” Roberts (Jhillian Tillis); nine

grandchildren, Da’Triana Roberts, Annaisa Roberts (Nene), C’meria

Williams, Kazi Roberts, Wayne Moore Jr., Gabriel Vennus, Legend

Roberts, Wynter Roberts and Zayn Roberts; two dogs Gizzy and

Summer
