

Dalinda Rochelle Mackey, lovingly called “Linda” in short by family and friends, was born on November 8, 1972, in Houston, Texas, to Walter Perry Riley and Hattie Mae Mackey. She was raised with strong family values and a deep sense of community. Dalinda pursued her education with determination and pride, earning an Associate degree from ITT Technical Institute. Guided by the unwavering faith of her grandmother, Pearlee, Linda was baptized at the Church of Christ at Carverdale under the leadership of the late Brother Clarence Johnson, Sr., where she found spiritual nourishment and a sense of belonging.
As a valued employee at Buckeye, LLC, Linda’s service, commitment and hard work were evident in everything she did. Her colleagues admired her dedication and the positive energy she brought to the workplace.
Above all, Linda was a devoted mother and daughter. Her life revolved around her sons, Damonusess Brooks, Jr. and Davin Green, as well as her beloved mother, Hattie Mae Mackey. She took immense pride in her family and the Mackey name, always showing unwavering support and love. Linda cherished moments spent with her family, and she thrived on creating joyful memories with them.
Linda departed this life on December 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Willie Riley and Daisy Riley; and her maternal grandparents, Elijah Mackey, Sr. and Pearlee Mackey. Despite these losses, she remained a pillar of strength for her family.
Linda is survived by her loving sons, Damonusess Brooks, Jr. and Davin Green; an honorary daughter, Brittany Green (Paul); and her cherished Godsons, Landon and Chase. She also leaves behind her father, Walter Riley; her mother, Hattie Mae Mackey; her brother, Shelton Ford (Natalie); her sister, LaSandra Williams. Her circle of love extended to her best friends, Katina Jones and Cayde Jackson, as well as six nephews, two nieces, and a host of other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
A visitation for Dalinda will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. The funeral will immediately follow from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM. The committal will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
