Daniel Clark Berg, age 73, of Spring, Texas, passed away at his home on December 21, 2020. He was born in Danville, Illinois on February 18, 1947, the son of the late Robert W. Berg and Norma Jeanne Nelson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert D. Berg. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Leibach on April 19, 1969. He is survived by his wife, daughter, Alison Martin (Paul), daughter Sara Berg, and his grandson, Wyatt Daniel Barsh, all of Spring, TX. Also surviving is his sister, Beverly Berg Secrest (Edward) of Houston, TX. Dan graduated from Danville High School and shortly thereafter joined the US Army where he serviced in the 101st Airborne. He served in the Panama Canal Zone and active duty in Vietnam.
He was a Union Brick Mason for 20 years, and retired from Klein ISD with 27 years of service.
He was a faithful servant and the spiritual head of his family.
After moving to Texas from Illinois he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Klein and later Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, TX. He actively served in both congregations as an elder, taught Bible classes, and was a mentor to many young men. He was also a Bible Study Fellowship discussion leader for over ten years. Dan’s love of the Lord was evident in the way he lived his life. Dan was quite the adventurous man. He grew up hunting and fishing with his Dad and loved both, especially pheasant hunting. He loved mountain climbing. He and his mountain climbing buddies climbed many of the fourteen’ers over many states. In the last few years Dan’s main interest was spending time with friends shooting sporting clay targets and working as a referee in sporting clay events.
Funeral Services will be held at Salem Luther Church in Tomball, TX on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30am. Due to COVID-19 there will not be a reception until a later date. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery with a military service.
