Daniel Borrego

Married for 33 years to the love of his life, Danny is preceded in death by his wife Janie Borrego; parents, Phillip and Alejandra Borrego and brothers, Felipe and Alejandro Borrego.

Danny was hard working, strong willed, and big on family. For him family came first, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. He adored and was dedicated to his grandchildren.

He was a Contract Manager for Spectra Contract Flooring for 15 years before retiring. However, his greatest accomplishment was being ‘dad and grandpa’! He loved being outdoors: working in his yard, camping, fishing, and going to the beach to see the ocean. He especially loved watching sports.

He and his family are members of St. Helen’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher until his health began to decline. Though Danny struggled with ongoing health issues, his toughest battle came the last few weeks of his life, when his body could no longer endure. Thankfully, God, in His infinite mercy, granted Danny the ultimate healing. He rests now, in peace with the Lord, with his wife Janie and his family in heaven.

Beloved father, grandfather, and brother Danny is survived by daughter Vanessa and husband Brandon Lacy; son, Richard Cruz; grandchildren, Damian, Nicholas, Alayna Lacy and Aaliya Cruz; sisters, Maria Zamora, Deanna Cantu, and Leticia (husband Luis) Ramirez; brothers, Humberto (wife Linda) Borrego, and Augustine (wife Jessica) Borrego. And numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends. We celebrate his life and the time God granted us with him.

Visitation at Crespo Funeral Home in Houston, TX. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 5pm to 9pm. Rosary at 7pm in the chapel. Funeral mass is Wednesday, August 9, 2023 10am at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, TX. Burial to immediately follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.

Pallbearers: Richard Cruz, Daniel Borrego, Mark Borrego, Chad Hunter, Luis Ramirez Jr., and Matthew Rodriguez.

Honorary Pallbearers: Alex Borrego and Joe Arguelles.
