There have been so many memories racing through my mind over the past week when I first heard the news. I will always cherish those many trips to Cleveland when we were kids to visit 'Mom Mom' and "Pop Pop', our aunts, uncles, and cousins. When the weather was crappy, or when we were bored sitting on Pa Shorty's porch, we would go next door to play with our 'Koko cousins' in the basement. And, during nice weather, we would all go to the corner store, or make a big adventure and ride bikes around the block....something that we didn't have in rural Houtzdale, PA! Dan and Amy, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you struggle with this difficult time, but know that your Dad is in a better place.

I promise you the Lord will see both of you through this. Your dad is being cradled in the Lord's hand and looking down everyday to make sure things are going as he wanted for both of you.  My sonumber who Dan loved and was so loved back my son will pay his respects Friday.

My prayers are with you for your great loss.  I knew Dan from work and he blessed me with one of his crosses - it hangs at my front door and blesses my home.  I will miss talking to him.

Dan was a wonderful, funny and a great neighbor for over 25 years. He loved to shoot to "bull" with my husband Scott over those 25 years. We were saddened to hear that he had passed on but know he will no longer feel the pain of his illness just the joy of the heavenly after.

Dear Amy & Danny, Jr,
We cannot express how saddened we were when the news came of your Dad's death. We thought certain he would beat this but God had other plans.  Our loss on earth is God's gain in Heaven. We will not mourn Dan's death but will celebrate the love he had for not only his family and friends but for all he would meet. Your Dad had a huge loving and kind heart.  The greatest tribute you could pay him would be to continue doing what he had done.
 We are pleased to have been on the receiving end of two pieces of his art work.  What talent!! We have been seeing some examples on Facebook of the many different items he made and the personal touches he put on each piece. They are treasures!
We can't imagine what you are going through but know this.... your faith, family and friends will comfort you as you honor the life of your Dad.
May God grant Dan eternal rest and may God guide and comfort you.

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Sorry for your loss at such an early age. I'm sure Dan, Uncle Don & Pop Pop Shorty are contemplating which projects God needs done.  There may even be a spirited conversation as to which one gets done first and the proper way to accomplish it.

There will be no words that heal your hearts ....Amy and Danny just know that your Daddy will always be with you , he was definitely one of a kind , from the moment I met him I knew he was real , down to earth and wanted you to laugh ....not take life so serious. He was a very talented man.
I know you all have so many memories with him and believe it or not those memories will bring even more tears to your eyes but happy tears , we never understand how God chooses his Angels but what we do know is he chooses the best. I wish for Peace to fill your hearts and know that you are all in my thoughts hoping each day only gets brighter !

As a neighbor around the corner you will be missed. I remember a few times, early in the morning as I was on my way to work, your garage door would be open, you'd be up and working on something.  Danny and Amy, your dad will always be in your heart. My deepest sympathy for your loss. It's hard loosing a parent, especially one as young as your dad.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Kokoskie family on the passing of Dan, their beloved father, son and brother.  May God Bless and Welcome Him into his eternal life in heaven reunited with his great Dad.  Remember and cherish the good times as they will sustain you during your period of grief.

Been friends and coworkers with Dan since 1982. What a great guy. Have lots of good memories of Dan. He was a great handyman and has helped me with a few projects. Dan would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dan and his family.

I met Dan when I moved in across the street from him. He was always looking out for me when I left the garage door open at night or locked my self out. He was always there to rescue me or other members of our family. Whenever my husband couldn't fix things I would call in Dan and he would take care of it. He often teased me but you couldn't stay mad at  him for long. He had such love in his heart for all his friend and family. He made things with such love never taking a penny for it. They will always mean so much to us. We will truly miss him

A memory I will always have is telling my little son many years ago that if there is ever an emergency and you need help go find Mr. Dan.  That's the kind of man Dan was.  He was a great neighbor to us and we will all miss him dearly.

I have so many fond memories as a child going to Cleveland staying with Ma Susie and Pa Shorty and visiting with all the "D" cousins! Danny will be sadly missed by all but now he can spend time with those loved ones who have passed before him. My thoughts and prayers to you all.

From St. Ignatius to Sunrise and the early days in Houston it been a pleasure to know you. Enjoyed our visit to your place for last years super bowl. Rest easy Brother.

I didn't personally know Dan very well, but I do know that every time I saw him he was always making people laugh and I could just tell that he was a great guy. Praying for you, Amy, and all of Dan's family and friends who loved him so.

We Met Dan in the year 2000 after moving on the same street. I became close friends with him often sharing our personal family experiences and our views on sociopolitical changes in the country. Rarely missed waving hands driving by. He was The Best Gentleman, great friend, responsible father and always willing to help anyone in any way he could. He introduced to me a number of new tools and encouraged me with creative projects. I often discussed DIY projects with him for further refinement, perfection and how to simplify the process. He went through multiple ailments but conquered most like a valiant warrior. It was hard to believe and extremely difficult to accept that he went to God. I will look for him every time I see his open garage door. We will miss him a lot. May God rest him in peace and give strength to Amy, Danny, family and friends to recover from such an unexpected loss.

I met Danny in the 70's when I moved to West 94th Street in Cleveland.  He was a fun person and good friend. God just got another angel.

Dan was a friend and I'm so honored that we got to know him and so very honored that he honored our family with so many beautiful art pieces which he personally made for me and for my family.  God Bless Dan & Amy and know that your dad was one in a Million and Loved his children and His God.  He is now in Heaven preparing the Master piece he wanted to complete..

Dan, you are genuinely thoughtful, kind, and talented, always willing to help others. Your ability to make me laugh could brighten my darkest day. You have touched the hearts of many and I am thankful to have known you as my friend. You are an Angel now, at peace in Heaven.

How do you say goodbye to a man who has touched so many not only with his words but his deeds. I am one of the blessed one's, I have a piece of Dan's art hanging in my home. It serves to welcome all who enter with Dan's spirit and love. You  will live on forever in our hearts and homes as we cherish your art for many years to come. I am the fortunate one for having met and worked with you. You will be missed.

Danny I have known you more than half my life. I've always loved you since high school you are an Angel no words can describe the loss my children and I feel. You love and compassion will never be forgotten our song ....Smoke Rings in the Dark ......will always and forever remind me of you and our friendship. I love you Danny until we meet again. Dan was a genuine friend to everyone. He would do anything for anyone. He had a huge heart and was very talented wood worker. He will be missed.

So many wonderful memories of this awesome person. Always there to lend a helping hand, offer good advice, or show off that infectious smile. He was more than a friend, he was part of our family. I know things didn't turn out how we planned. But atleast I know your not in pain suffering with what cards were dealt to us. Because you are us me and Amy and everyone who's heart you touched. The man who you taught me to be , the man who taught me loop and swoop tying my shoes. Who kept me peddling on my first bike. A man no matter the distance you made it to both corners of the United States to see me protect this country. I learned great wisdom and learned all I know through you and watching you. I'm happy a greatful I had a man most men don't have in their lives. And the no matter what keep pushing on we fall we get back up. Dad I'm trying so hard not to stay down for you but it's hard not hearing your jokes or your laugh and grin. I miss your wake up calls in the morning or your runs to answer the phone or to fill up on more coffee as you and I work on projects in our garage. You always told me the little things in life are what matter. And you are always a big thing that always mattered. I know you would want us all to stay strong and I'm going to try as my heart is slowing for the man I love was taken to a higher place. God needed him to hand his big hearted ness on to others. I love you Dad more than you will ever know.

Dad: To the man that truly holds the key to my heart and was the first man to show me what true love really meant and how it felt. There will never be anything in this world that will ever be able to fill the void in my heart. Deep down I do know that you are no longer in any pain and are not suffering in anyway. You have absolutely no reason to have to stress because I know that you are right next to grandpa finally getting to have those conversations you always wanted to have and getting all those un-answered questions answered. I know that you may not physically be here but you will always be at my side holding my hand a guiding me to make all the right decisions and choices in whatever is thrown my way. I hope I make you proud dad and I will always love you dad till the end of time.

You are and will always be my best friend even though your not physically here, I know that you will always be at my side holding my hand to guide me thru every decision.  Today my heart is breaking because I no longer get to see my best friend his laugh was infectious , and never will I see you smile I think I'm still in shock . I will always remember you and you will stay in my heart you were one of the best men I've ever met such a big heart never complained about anything that was bothering you or any pain you were in, you were always concerned with putting a smile on everybody else's face. You were always there with advive and as a friend when I needed you I will truly miss you love you bone daddy may you rest in peace. Dan - A man who allowed me to call him my friend and more so "my Brother".  You will remain a continuing part of my and many others life.  Amy and Danny you have someone to be proud of.

My heart is broken and Without a doubt I will miss you so much. But as I walk through my day, every day and no matter where I am I have a constant reminder that you were in my life. All of the fine wood work that you have shared with me for my home, work, children's homes and the homes of friends and other family members will be a constant reminder of your presence in our lives. There are no words accurate enough to portray what a good and decent man Dan was. Both of my grandchildren have serious health issues but Dan never forgot to ask me about them even though he was going through huge trials that I hope none of us ever have to face. My heart is heavy with Dan's passing but I know that I will see Dan again in that place our Lord has prepared that will have no more tears and pain.
