

Daria Jacob Curry was born on February 23, 1922 and died on May 25, 2012 at the age of ninety. She was the third of six children born to Bertha and George Jacob. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl P. Curry; sisters, Theodora and Clara, who was a member of the Dominican Order. She is survived by sisters, Freida and Maria and the youngest, her brother, George and their extended families. Also her children, daughter, Elizabeth Curry Cantu; son, Maurice Jerome Curry and grandchildren, Meghan Marieka Cantu and Dashiell Curry Cantu survive her. Before retirement, she worked in accounting in the construction industry and was the national recording secretary for the organization, Women in Construction (WIC). She and her husband were members of the 36th Division Association, and helped found the Washington Cemetery Historic Trust. She was a member of the following Catholic Churches: St. Joseph, St. Theresa, St. Jerome and St. Ambrose. Her charitable giving was to Casa Juan Diego in Houston. Visitation will be Monday, May 28, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil and Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pat H. Foley & Company. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston, Texas 77092. Daria will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
