

On February 5, 1929 David Lee Holden was born unto the late Messiah and Beulah Holden in the small parish called Natchitoches, Louisiana. David completed his race August 5, 2014. David was the seventh of eight children born between the union of Messiah and Beulah. David also had a twin sister named Daisy who passed at the time of birth.
David was a young man when he left home to see the world. Leaving at the age of 15 years old and making his way to Houston to reside with older brothers Abraham Holden and Lee Holden whom were already residing in Texas. When David came to Texas, he worked a variety of jobs. He was everything from an Alcohol Warehouse Delivery Driver, Lone Star Cab Driver, Todd Ship Yard, Jackson School Bus Driver, BFI, and a vast amount of miscellaneous delivery driving jobs.
David met and married his current wife and widow Lena Ruth Hadley in 1966, and stayed united to her until his transition from earth to Glory.
David was preceded in death by his siblings and son; brothers: Abraham and Lee Holden; sisters: Elsie Lovick, Mariah Gay, Ula Bradberry and Evelyn Davenport; and son: David F. Holden.
David leaves to cherish his life’s legacy with many heartfelt memories: his lovely wife Lena Ruth Hadley; four sons: Marlon (Tye) Holden, Lester (Yvette) Hadley, Conrell and Odis Hadley; one brother: Lodis (Bernese) Holden; a best friend: Charles Boston; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
