David Anthony Lopez

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of David Anthony Lopez, on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the age of 47 years. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Our hearts are heavy with his sudden passing, but we can take solace in knowing he is in heaven with his parents and brother.

He was preceded in death by his father David Leal Lopez, his mother Esperanza Verastigue Lopez, his brother Mitchell Ray Verastigue, his grandparents Antonio and Aurora Lopez, and his aunt Sylvia L Torres.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Isabel M Verastigue, and his nephews Mitchell Ray Verastigue Jr and Jordan Michael Verastigue. His aunts and uncles Antonio V Lopez Jr (Sally), Linda L Lopez, Gloria Ann Chavez (Mario), Elida L Lopez, Andrea Lopez-Hernandez, Felix L Lopez (Mary), John Ernest Lopez (Nora), Julia Verastigue Alarcon, along with numerous cousins and friends.

Anthony was born in Houston, Texas March 8, 1975. He was a man of few words, with a lot of patience and a big heart. For the last few years of his life, he devoted himself to taking care of his father who loved him dearly. Anthony could always put a smile on your face with his jokes and funny facial expressions; his best one was imitating “The Rock”. He loved fishing, tinkering with car stereo systems, going to the shooting range, barbecuing, and spending time with his cousins and friends. His sense of humor and good heart will always be remembered. He will be missed.
