David Eugene Pillow, 69, of Buckhorn, TX went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 27, 2021. David was born December 21, 1951 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Hershel and Mae (Hanes) Pillow and graduated from MacArthur High School in 1970. In May 28, 1971 he married Kathryn "Kat" Chance in Houston, Texas. Dave retired as an inspector for the City of Houston, IAH Airport and moved with Kathy to Buckhorn, TX where he enjoyed walking the property, working on his mower, and gathering his chickens' eggs. In his free time, he loved writing songs, playing music, and singing; but his absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with his family; visiting, camping, fishing, swimming: he was never too busy to love his family. He made time to see his brothers, sister, children, and grandchildren. To know him is to love him, and his family loves him very much.
David is survived by his wife, Kathy Pillow, sons David Alan and his wife Marie, Brian Eugene and his wife Tashina, daughters Mandy and her husband Daniel Forbis, and Angela and her husband Douglas Hudman; grandchildren Collin and Taormina; Ethan, Ava, and Levi; Jillian, Noah, Kailynn, and Liberty; Carrie and her husband James Lilly, Tori, Promise, and Isaiah. In addition, David is survived by his brothers and sister Hershel Carl and his wife Shirley Pillow, Douglas and his wife Balinda Pillow, Patricia "Trish," and her husband Rey Flores, Charles "Chuck" and his wife Tara Pillow, and countless other family members he loves dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Mae Pillow.
A viewing will be held from 12-1 on September 7, 2021, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Plum Grove Assembly of God Church: 931 F.M. 2090, Splendora, TX 77372. A graveside service will immediately follow at Brookside Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Shawn Monclova.
Pastors Charles Stoker and Ernie Parker will officiate the service.
